BLOOM & BRUSH: A SPRING WILDFLOWER WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
OVERVIEW: Let’s celebrate the spring season together with a relaxing, beginner-friendly watercolor workshop inspired by the beauty of California’s spring florals. Whether you’re new to painting or just looking for a joyful artistic escape, this workshop is designed to spark your creativity and leave you with a unique floral masterpiece!

10:00am to 12:30pm on Sunday, May 18th at the Pool Club
There is a $40 fee to cover for the materials provided.
MATERIALS COVERED BY $40 FEE (Assuming 10 signups): paint set, water color paper pad & paper, and brushes

MATERIALS PEOPLE SHOULD BRING FROM HOME:
- Drawing pencil and eraser
- Paper towels or soft cloth to dry brushes
- 2 plastic cups or containers (glass or ceramic ), one for mixing and one for clean water
- Optional, but helpful: Drawing board

Watercolor basics and practice techniques

We’ll practice with water ratios, different brush strokes, wet on wet vs wet on dry techniques, gradients and washes, color mixing

Floral elements practice
|
Demos and practice, how to draw each flower and leaves

11:30-12:30

Final Floral composition
|
- Start with a pencil sketch, minding overall composition (balance, spacing, layering)
- Students create their own floral scene following the techniques they practiced earlier
